Getting started

Configure the garage details used across MotoDesk

Set the garage identity, opening hours, vehicle focus, public booking link and document logo used by connected MotoDesk workflows.

Garage Settings holds operating information reused across scheduling, public booking, vehicle workflows and customer documents. Owners and managers should review it before the first live booking or job rather than treating it as a one-time decorative profile.

Some controls are owner-only because they establish a permanent public address or organisation-wide document identity. The page explains when a manager can update operating details and when the owner must complete the action.

Open Garage Settings and confirm access

  1. Sign in as the garage owner or manager.
  2. Open Garage Settings from the signed-in navigation.
  3. Review the current saved information before changing a live workshop rule.
  4. Save one coherent update and confirm the success state before leaving the page.

Set the workshop vehicle focus

Choose Cars, Motorcycles or Mixed to match the vehicles the garage services. The selection influences the workshop floor, job tools and diagram choices so the team does not have to work around an irrelevant vehicle layout.

Use Mixed when both car and motorcycle work is genuinely handled. MotoDesk still chooses the relevant diagram and job context from the individual vehicle where that information is available.

Maintain opening hours

Opening hours are active scheduling rules. The complete job interval must fit inside the configured day, and closed periods are not offered as available workshop capacity.

  1. Toggle each genuinely closed day off.
  2. Enter the normal local opening and closing time for every operating day.
  3. Save and open the Workshop Planner to confirm that the expected slots appear.
  4. Review public booking availability if customers use the garage booking link.

Create the public booking link

The owner can choose the garage's public booking address and then copy the completed link for the workshop website or customer communication. Choose carefully because the current owner workflow treats this public address as permanent.

Test the clean customer-facing link on a phone and desktop before sharing it. Availability follows the saved opening hours and current workshop schedule rather than an unconnected diary.

Add the company logo

The owner can upload a PNG or JPG logo up to 2 MB. A clear landscape logo works best and is reused on supported documents such as invoices, payslips and job summaries.

After upload, generate a representative PDF and check size, contrast and legibility. Removing the logo changes future rendering; it does not rewrite documents already downloaded by customers or staff.

Verify connected workflows after a change

  • Open Timeline and confirm the correct working day and capacity.
  • Open the public booking link and check the garage identity and available dates.
  • Open a car or motorcycle job and confirm the intended workshop profile.
  • Generate a supported document and check the current garage identity and logo.
  • Tell the workshop team when an operating rule has changed so an old assumption is not used for planning.
